New Windsor, New York Precinct Records, 1763-1779 lists him as "Overseer of the Road from Wm. Mulliners to the Precinct line westerly" in 1769.
Also, as Overseer of the Poor with David Holladay in 1772.
And in there is a John Galloway possessing the following stray livestock: "6 sheep, 4 of them with a slit in each ear, and the under side of the left 
cut off and one black with a crop off each ear, one old sheep with both ears cut and no artificial mark to be seen. Recorded Jan 9th 1815"
"--purchased 84 acres in western New Windsor (1000 yds northwest of present day Rock Tavern)
from Timothy Mills on 18 October 1763 (on 16 Jun 1786 General James Clinton [1736-1812] attested that "to the best 
of his knowledge. ..he was present and saw the grantors Timothy Mills and Margaret, his wife, ...sign, seal, and deliver the 
written deed") for 72 pounds 12 shillings --road over-seer in 1769 from "William Mulliner' s to the precinct line westerly" 
-overseer of the poor 1772 -served in New Windsor "exempts" 1778 -sued by Richard Goldsmith in the OC Court of Common 
Pleas in Apr 1796 and again in Feb 1799 for a debt of $82.50 -stone farm house (22 x 20), stone kitchen (16 x 14) and frame barn (30 x 40)
valued in tax list of 1798 at $1120- mortgaged in 1817 for $260 to General Nathaniel DuBois (1773-1848), son of Zachariah DuBois 
and brother of Elizabeth DuBois (see 3-2) -John died intestate in New Windsor (Nathaniel DuBois appointed executor)
-farm was in possession of Josiah and Fanny Barkley in 1825 and was sold by them to Peter and Jane Van Voorhis on 8 Sept for $2076. 
The Van Voorhis in turn sold it to Calvin Copley (1807-1841) in 1833 for $2800, and Copley resold it in 1835 to Edward L. Genung for $3350. 
Genung apparently sold parts of it on occasion but had reacquired it by 1859. The farm was sold on his death in 1869 by his son and 
executor Edward P. Genung to Joseph A. Morrison for $7994."5
Resided in Orange Co. from 1750 (a NYC merchant sued him for a bad debt in a Goshen court in that year) -married,
ca 1755, Leah Van Duzer (1736- alive 1783), daughter of Isaac Van Dueser  (Duersen) Jr. (1698-10 Sep 1791) 5

Resided in Orange Co, NY from 1752. "The first record to be found of John Galloway was in the town of New Windsor 
when on 18 Oct 1763, he bought 84 acres of land. At that time New Windsor was in Ulster Co. now Orange Co. The land 
was purchased from Timothy & Margaret Mills. For many years he was a tavern keeper at Rock Tavern. He died 
there in 1823 and is buried at Little Britain. The name of his wife is not known. He was Scotch."1 2 3 4
