"Matilda" is probably Matilda R. Adsit, daughter of Lorinda S. (Laura) Galloway and DeWitt Adsit. She married Thomas L. Parrish Dec. 21, 1887--two months after this letter was written. This also suggests that Latham is Latham IL, as Thomas Parrish was from Latham, IL. Earlier in 1887, he bought land in Lovejoy township (Wellington) Iroquois County.
