On November 22, 1863 at Goshen, Orange County, New York then 22 year old George W. Galloway enlisted as a private in Company B, 54th New York Infantry Regiment. On March 1, 1865 he was promoted to full corporal and retained that rank until he mustered out of service at Charleston, South Carolina on April 14, 1866. On July 9, 1890 he began to draw a soldiers pension, certificate # 598620 New York, for his service until his death in 1913. On October 11, 1913 Anne Galloway, his widow certificate # 767220 New York, began drawing the pension until her death in 1926. from JanGalloway@aol.com
